I'm Tamar and he’s Ariel! We’re Tamariel Paints!

I'm Tamar and I am the owner and main face painter, airbrush, makeup, and henna artist behind Tamariel Paints. I fell in love with painting when I was in seventh grade. I desperately wanted art lessons, but my mother insisted that I needed to earn the privilege. As a result, I taught myself to paint by creating one-stroke roses onto wooden step stools. I was always short on funds and the high cost of canvas led me to practice my painting skills on items that my parents already had lying around their house. Until I was able to afford new glassware; old furniture, scratched vases, and sets of Wal-Mart drinking glasses were my 'canvases' of choice.

In 2005, I purchased my first set of professional face painting cosmetics. After spending an incredible summer face painting children at a camp for children with chronic illnesses, Tamariel Paints was born!

In addition to being an artist I have my Master of Science in Child Development, and I am a Chicago high school teacher. I love being an artist, and I love working with children!

Ariel is often behind the scenes creating yard art and working the photo booth. Ariel has his MBA from Benedictine University and his undergraduate degree in marking from UIC.
